The Etruscans

A mysterious culture of Tuscany

The Etruscans have a lot to offer: a rich culture, gold, demons, art – and secrets. The wealth of large burial sites in Tuscany, Italy, bears witness to great prosperity and cultural diversity.

Having made their fortune through agriculture, the Etruscans maintained trade relations throughout the Mediterranean region. They had a special connection to Greek culture – to its imagery, religion and also to the Greek alphabet. However, much of this remains open to interpretation to this day. Other aspects, such as religious rituals, fashion and temple architecture, were adopted by the Romans, whose legacy is well known.

The exhibition presents valuable jewelry, shiny bucchero pottery, architecture, weapons, and everyday objects on approximately 1,000 square meters, revealing many of the secrets of the Etruscans.
