The State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz –smac for short– presents 300.000 years of cultural history on the territory of the Free State of Saxony. The lively multimedia exhibition turns a visit to the smac to a unique experience. The museum is housed in the former Schocken department store in the city of Chemnitz – an architectural jewel of the Classical Modernism, built in 1929/30 according to plans by the world-famous architect Erich Mendelsohn.
We look forward to seeing you here!
