Accessibility to and within the museum

This link provides general information about the accessibility.

People with wheelchairs/walkers

You can visit the exhibition “Planet Africa” with a wheelchair or walker. Some texts and screens are mounted high up, so the content may be difficult to see from a wheelchair. Some display cases are not wheelchair accessible.

Sign language users

The introductory text to the exhibition and the various section texts have been translated into German sign language. You can find the videos on digital screens in the exhibition.

Users of easy language

The introductory text for the exhibition and the various section texts have been translated into German easy language. You can find the texts on digital screens in the exhibition.

Blind and visually impaired visitors

An audio tour for blind and visually impaired visitors in German is combined with a tactile guidance system, tactile models, and audio stations. The audio tour is available on the 4th floor at the beginning of the “Planet Africa” exhibition.
